Bowls in Paphos Cyprus - The Avanti Hotel Bowling Club

Welcome to the Avanti Hotel Bowling Club where experienced bowlers, new bowlers, visiting bowlers and holiday bowlers will be guaranteed a happy and friendly welcome.

Some of you may remember us as the Louis Phaethon Bowling Club which was in existence for eight years before we changed venues in April 2011 and moved down the road to the Avanti Hotel, here in Kato Paphos, Cyprus – on the “Island of Love”!

We have a six-rink artificial all-weather green and thanks to the wonderful Cypriot climate we play outside for virtually all the year.

We have something for everyone. While the green is available seven days a week, we play club roll-ups on three days – Monday afternoons, as well as on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.

We also have club competitions throughout the year, play league matches against other clubs on the island and have a number of games against visiting clubs from the UK in the winter months (when the sun is usually still shining).

On top of that we have a very good social calendar with organised activities most months including dinner dances, games evenings, quizzies, the occasional visit to the Nicosia racetrack and local wineries and even a donkey safari!

· If you are … new to the island and would like to have a go at bowling, then come along and meet us, watch the club in action and have a chat. We will be very pleased to see you and if you need any help on how to bowl, we have top-class coaches available to help you free of charge.

We are members of Bowls Cyprus, the national association for bowling in Cyprus which has an international squad that has already competed in many competitions throughout the world. In fact, the Avanti Hotel Bowling Club has members competing in the teams and also has some of its members holding important positions in the association. However, if it is just a friendly bowl you want, we are the club for you.
